World Youth Day 2005 was a blistering success in many different ways. We as Sion Youth were there doing an evangelistic outreach in Bonn. Sian, the outreach Co-ordinator relfects:

"29 young people: ready to stand up, to share their own faith and to serve all to make God known! 250 people came just as God promised; the team gave all they had."

The Spiritual Accompaniment course will next be running:

28th Feb-3th March 2006

 

A course focussing on the skills required to accompany people on their spiritual journeys

This course is for those who are considering accompanying others on their spiritual journey, or who are already doing so.

It is held at S.E.N.T. in Brentwood, Essex, and all participants will have an opportunity to share in some aspects of the life and prayer of Sion Community.

Course Content

It draws from the Ignatian tradition.

It will cover the following:
• What is Spiritual Accompaniment?
• Accompaniment in daily life
• Accompaniment during decisions
• Accompaniment during discernment of vocation
• Awareness of development stages of the journey with Jesus
(e.g. healing, mid life crisis, second conversion)
• Accompaniment during a crisis.

During these retreats each person will receive spiritual accompaniment.

Cost

The Spiritual Accompaniment course costs £200. This includes food, accomodation, tuition fees and course materials. The course begins with supper on Teusday 28th of Feburary and ends with lunch on Thursday 3rd of March. Many of the sessions will be interactive, and participants will be encoraged to apply the material to their owm situaitions.
