World Youth Day 2005 was a blistering success in many different ways. We as Sion Youth were there doing an evangelistic outreach in Bonn. Sian, the outreach Co-ordinator relfects:

"29 young people: ready to stand up, to share their own faith and to serve all to make God known! 250 people came just as God promised; the team gave all they had."

Formation members did not exist until very recently in Sion. We are just getting used to a whole new way of thinking about what makes a person a Formation Member and what type of Fromation Member a person is!

The formation membership can be split neatly into three segments:

Youth Programme This has derived from the long standing 'Youth Membership'. It is a fantastic opportunity for a young adult to take a year (or two!) out of the rest of the world of education and work. To come to an intense year of formation, training, community living and mission experience.

Discernment Programme An opportunity to walk with Community and to learn more about us, what we do and how we do it, and to spend as long as is necessary to discover wether to step deeper into commitment with Sion

Induction Programme A time of formation where the person is committed to join Sion Community more fully, the Induction Programme tries to make this transition as smooth as possible

and thats it! a formation member is in a commited relationship with Community, with a particular focus on the individuals formation
