Primary School Missions
We firmly believe that the witness of Christian lifestyle by staff, parents, governors and children, linked with good educational practice, is the most basic way of spreading the Gospel in any Roman Catholic Primary Schools.
Vision:
To evangelise the children, staff, governors, parents and all those involved in the Mission.
Aim:
To present the Gospel message in a modern, lively and stimulating way in order to encourage all concerned to take a fresh look at our faith and to live it more deeply.
How do we do it?
Our work in primary schools consists of one week mission visits to schools, where we aim to reach out to all those who are connected in any way with the school.
We do this by working with the children both in the school hall, through assemblies and year group work, and in their classrooms, teaching the children items which they will later present to their families at one of our two presentation sessions for families. In this way we enable children to minister to the adults and help them to see their role in the Church.
For the staff we have a prayer time each morning, which is followed by a morning prayer time for parents.
On one evening of the week we also have a special presentation for adults only, to which we invite adult family members, staff and governors.
Together with Parish Missions
Our Primary School Missions are most effective when held alongside Parish Missions. Our experience proves that much greater links and involvement can be made when missions are done together like this.
