Catholic Apologetics Weekend
A weekend exploring the 'Why' behind some of the Catholic Church's teachings to help you grow firmer in your faith. |
Catholic Apologetics Course (Online) The Sion Community Apologetics Course, led by Alice Hall, ran live on the internet in April 2020, but is still available as a 'catch-up subscription' until the end of May. Whether or not you have questions yourself about the Catholic faith, you will have family or friends who ask questions that you feel ill-equipped to answer. This course will help you explain your faith, predominately using scripture. We will explore the authority of the Church to teach us, and various topics that are particularly Catholic such as the Papacy, Mary, the Saints, Confession and the Eucharist. Alice has been teaching this material for 20 years and has a Master’s degree in Theology from the Franciscan University, Steubenville in the USA. She is passionate to equip Catholics to know and understand their faith, especially to be able to explain it to Christians of other denominations in order to further Christian Unity. There is no cost for this course per se but we would like to ask for a suggested donation of £60 per person for waged/salaried participants for the 10 sessions (we will cover more in this online course than would have been over the weekend course). If you are unwaged/a student we recommend a donation at around £20-25 or whatever you can afford. Please do not let the suggested donation of the course prevent you from taking part - we just hope in this way to help cover some of the financial losses for not being able to offer the residential course. If you, like us, find yourselves in difficulties financially due to the pandemic please do not allow this prevent you from taking part! The more the merrier!
